Floral Birthday Cards

Hafa Adai Everyone,

I am back for my third post and I have to say I am getting a bit more comfortable now. Getting there by each post I make.

Today I will be sharing three cards I created. For the first two I was inspired by Danielle Flanders on Papertrey Ink Make It Monday: Two Toned Sentiments (here is the link to the youtube video) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4B24Fb-RPQ&list=PL2ojXqs5dP-SD_B4EuwBWYUo-CAZllhU1&index=6 Danielle shows and explains more on how to create these cards.
I didn't have the cover plate so I created my own template in Inkscape and saved it as a cutting file (SVG) and uploaded it to Design Space and used my Cricut Explore to cut it out. Came out PERFECT!! I used both the positive and negative to create both cards as you can see. Top photo is the positive cut and bottom photo is the negative.
The sentiments used are from Winnie & Walter's The Big The Bold and Party Stamp Set. Absolutely love all their products. I heat embossed the sentiment with Simon Says Stamp white embossing powder and stamped the pink color with Papertrey Ink Hibiscus Burst dye ink. The floral are from Altenew's Vintage Roses Stamp Set (So in love with this stamp set) this particular stamp set is a layering set. It gives the highlights and shadows to create a realistic look to the roses. Inks used for the roses are from Papertrey Ink: Hibiscus Burst and Pure Poppy. I did a second generation stamping with the Hibiscus Burst to give the lightest color. Beautiful end results I must say! For the leaves I used Pine Feathers for the darkest color and New Leaf for the lightest.

I used Bazzill Cardstock Pixie Pink for the main panel (stripes), Bazzill Marshmallow for under the stripes, and Neenah Solar White 110lbs for the card  base. On the second photo the patterned paper used is from one of SSS (Simon Says Stamp) card kit. I forgot what card it is from but when I do I'll edit in the post later. Twine is from Doodlebug Design.

I adhere the stripe panel first with my TomBow adhesive and then adhere the roses using 3mm foam tape to give the roses some dimension. I added some glitter to the roses using my Wink of Stella clear glitter brush. It is hard to see it through the photos but in real life it is FABULOUS!! Then I finished the card with some sequins and a bow.

Next card I made was for a friend from my Phlebotomy Class. She requested for her mother's upcoming birthday. She wanted me to surprise her with the design but asked for purples!
For this card I used Winnie & Walter's In Bloom: Addie's Garden and for the sentiment The Big The Bold and Party. I heat embossed all the flowers and leaves with Ranger Embossing Powder Gold and then water colored them using distress inks. The colors I used are Seedless Preserve, Milled Lavender, Mustard Seed, Ripe Persimmon, Antique Linen, Crushed Olive, Mowed Lawn, and Salty Ocean. After I water colored them I sped the drying time with my heat gun and fussy cut them all.

For the base of the card I used Neenah Solor White 110lbs and used a purple pattern paper with lavender flowers in them but I'm not sure what company it is from (when I do know I'll edit that info in). I adhere my main base onto the patterned paper with 3mm foam tape to give it some dimension and stared adhering my flowers and leaves. I used my TOMBOW adhesive for all the flowers and leaves except for the purple ones. I used 3mm foam tape to adhere the flowers. I added a light purple ribbon to the card and did some purple and blue splatters.

I finished the card with my Wink of Stella clear glitter brush on the purple flowers and added some sequins. I hope this post was not too bad as I am still learning this whole blog thing. I am in no way professional here. Thank you all for stopping by and please I'd like to hear what you think! Thank you again! Where I'm from we say Si Yu'us Må'åse!

Xoxo,
Lydine
